DAE audibly say "no no no" when thinking about a particularly embarrassing moment?

Recent Notifications

  • One of the worst things about this is that anyone with reservations about the government’s trustworthiness to wield unprecedentedly authoritarian powers has been lumped into the same category as the idiots pushing Bill Gates/5G conspiracy theories and anti-vaxxer bollocks.

    1614513639

  • Painting people who disagrees with the lockdown measures and expressed concern over these unprecedented governmental powers as 5G QAnon far right idiots was a conscious move to delegitimization anyone who questioned the government’s reaction.

    1614597867

  • All this talk about a vaccine passport just has me scared they’ll pull the trigger. It would be such a slap in the face to young people. Idk why anyone under the age of 50 even lives in this shithole anymore

    1614518962

  • I do.

    1614528176

  • That isn't the point though is it.

    1614512742

  • I would argue that not changing the rules forces people to gather inside where they’re less likely to be stopped and caught.

    1614516339

  • Only the s’mores kind

    1614303450

  • Yes, the nestle cookie dough is perfect besides the chips!

    1614302659

  • Yes I used to haev this happen when I was younger. I'd stare at myself in the mirror and say 'I am me' over and over. Eventually the realisation would hit so hard, it would feel like I was sliding off the earth.

    1614294249

  • Wow. I love the last sentence. That was really powerful :)

    1614302360

  • lmao . should i have noticed

    1614289340

  • I don’t get it

    1614302053

  • Yes I agree. Look up misophonia, you might have it for other noises too

    1614301776

  • Feels as though people seem to prefer tighter lockdown restrictions based on polls so I don't know if that would play a heavy factor compared to the Salmond stuff.

    1614252402

  • I wouldn’t underestimate the roadmap’s effect though. People are really really upset and needed hope. Then they weren’t given any

    1614252941

  • It's better to not lie to people.

    1614254121

  • Suppose not, but when is it enough? Because the rest of Europe is getting back to normal rapidly more fast and we are in a better position than a lot of those places.

    1614254680

  • I know this place is pretty US-centric and when we do talk about the UK it’s usually England, but if anyone has any kind words of encouragement or can commiserate, I’m living in Scotland currently and we just had a really fucked up extension of restrictions - essentially full lockdown for another two months.

    1614199828

  • Also I'm jealous of people who are happy now. With their loved ones, who consider all of this just a minor inconvenience. For the first time in my life I'm feeling envy. Ugh

    1614198778

  • I know seeing some places basically back to normal besides masks or some other minor restriction hurts my soul.

    1614199653

  • Good god, now that he’s said this I bet Nicola will say “NO ONE CAN DIE EVER” in retaliation

    1614177289

  • I haven’t been more depressed the whole lockdown. The news yesterday from Nicola sturgeon has me broken

    1614169345

  • I predict a U-turn on this

    1614100945

  • You have no idea how many people hope you are right

    1614111741

  • It feels like we’re in prison. I have some friends who are barely hanging on and this news will destroy them. I know it’s destroyed me.

    1614092753

  • Shit like this will genuinely make people not vote SNP

    1614092813

  • They just lost my vote 🤷‍♀️

    1614095258

  • You've got to think that people will start to properly rebel at some point. There's only so much that you can take.

    1614091627

  • I wonder. Part of me really hopes no one stands for this “update”

    1614092153

  • I am absolutely dreading her announcement, we need some fucking hope. If not and England goes to plan, many of us will be travelling down south on the regular to live a normal life.

    1614077829

  • That would be such a dumb move for the SNP to make restrictions last longer than England. As you say most people would travel south and just spend their money in England

    1614086219

  • I have been pro-lockdown for so long but I have to say, I am absolutely astounded that so many are happy with this outcome. Sure, it's light at the end of the tunnel, but at least 5 weeks between stages is a joke.

    1614010512

  • I don’t know if people are particularly happy with this plan. They’re mostly happy with the end of this plan, but not the first 7 weeks of more lockdown

    1614015341

  • [удалено]

    1614000805

  • If you insist that we all stay locked down or with serious restrictions whilst we wait for everyone to be vaccinated you run the risk of undermining faith in the vaccine altogether. If the vaccines don’t end restrictions, what will?

    1614001330

  • Further down in this thread I mentioned I don't think we should stay locked down with serious restrictions whilst we wait for everyone to be vaccinated. I said we should lower restrictions slowly as opposed to almost all rules going away like OP suggested. Lowering restrictions slowly would allow for more people to be vaccinated before restrictions were completely gone than if we just got rid of everything now thus decreasing mutation risk and protecting vulnerable people under 50.

    1614001629

  • I agree more with your nuanced take, but still that’s a goalpost move. Weren’t restrictions contingent upon protecting the elderly and most vulnerable in society?

    1614002163

  • Shes my favorite character!

    1613956758

  • Any recommendations for combatting deep big pimples that seem to be brought on by the masks were all wearing? Every since the pandemic I’ve been getting really bad skin around my chin and cheek of like big deeply embedded into the skin pimples. I’m looking for a new skincare regime and maybe diet change to combat this. Any tips?

    1613951376

  • Not really... they have already made various announcements of their own and have shown they are quite happy to go their own way on things. Do you live in England?

    1613926028

  • No I don’t live in England. I don’t mean to say that tomorrow’s announcement affects the rules legally in Scotland and Wales (to a way lesser extent Northern Ireland) I just mean what happens in practice.

    1613926281

  • Sturgeon and Drakeford have made it abundantly clear they will do what they think is right and will ignore Boris. They have had much harsher restrictions at times than England and have closed things sooner.

    1613926658

  • I am aware that Sturgeon and Drakeford have gone a very different direction than Boris throughout this entire situation, I'm just saying that the direction England goes in has consequences for Scotland and Wales. The rules of neighboring areas have always had implications on their neighbors, as is the case with many states in the US.

    1613927000

  • Really really well. Just finished seeing her for our third date and have a fourth lined up. Who knows where it’s going, but enjoying things a lot now.

    1613925383

  • Glad to hear it. Hope it all works out for you :)

    1613925756

  • How did it go?!

    1613864017

  • This article reads like preemptive justification for the prolonged lockdown they might spit at us tomorrow

    1613919423

  • I thought I was insane for doing this! I always do this. I guess I’m just that embarrassing .... Humans are so funny
